You may recognize Curly Top from the pages of Muscle & Fitness, Flex, Ironman, MuscleMag, or from television appearances in several football commercials or on ESPN. Top is now a pro bodybuilder with more than 10 years of experience in the field. Stan was raised in Fort Valley and went to Morris Brown college in Atlanta, where I played football and ran track. I graduated Cum Laude. He's lived in Atlanta ever since. On the Football team there were two guys named McCrary. Stan was offense and the other guy was defense. His name was McCrary too. When the coach shouted "McCrary, get on the field". Both ran out. Then the coach yelled, 'I meant Curly Top'. |

So after that, he started to call me Curly Top. While working and trying to get onto the Dallas Cowboys football team, he injured his shoulder. They placed him on waivers, and put him into a rehab program. When he went to the gym he met Lee Haney. Lee Haney was a three time Olympia winner at the time, and Lee told him he had pro potential. Lee became his mentor and gave valuable info that helped Stan progress quickly. When Lee opened up a gym in Atlanta, and Stan became the manager. |
