After high school, I enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. Being a Marine I was taught to bring my physical fitness to higher levels. Although my primary focus was running and cardiovascular endurance I would still work out because it was the thing to do. At 150 pounds I could only dream of being like a bodybuilder in the magazines.

In 2000 while training with a couple of friends I found a love for the gym and embraced heavy training. In just 3 years I transformed my slender physique into that of an avid gym buff. Motivated by bodybuilders of the past I read Arnold's Encyclopedia and changed my workouts while focusing on obtaining a physique similar to the likes of Frank Zane and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

While deployed to Iraq in 2005 my best friend and training partner Sergeant Jody Armentrout, signed the two of us up for a bodybuilding competition. I took 1st place in the light heavyweight division and won the overall. It was an amazing feeling to step on stage and I knew that I would compete in the future.
In 2008 I decided to compete again and entered the NPC Panhandle Showdown. It was here that I became a local idol capturing 1st in the light heavyweight and winning overall as well as the title Mr. Pensacola. I went on to win 3 more competitions in 2008 including a National Qualifier.

In 2009 I had a goal to become a natural professional bodybuilder with Musclemania Universe in my sights. I won the 2009 Musclemania Universe light heavyweight division and earned my pro card. I am currently training hard for my pro debut.

As a United States Marine it is difficult to balance my duties with training and dieting but I try my best. The hardest competition to prepare for was Musclemania Universe in 2009 as I was attending the 7 week Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, graduating just a week before the contest date. My diet and training routine had to be worked around the vigorous pt program and class schedule while making time for studying and completing assignments and reports. Through hard work and determination I graduated 5th in a class of 114 and conditioned myself to win at Musclemania.

I am constantly working on improving my physique and getting the most from my training. Having never been trained or mentored, everything that I have learned has been through personal research. I enjoy promoting the sport of bodybuilding while teaching the Marines and Sailors in the area proper ways to train and diet in order to improve their fitness regardless of their goals. It is an amazing feeling and responsibility to be a role model to so many young people.
