What got you into bodybuilding?
I have always admired the physiques of bodybuilders. After getting out of the Marines after 11 years and needing something to quench my thirst for competition I felt like this is something that I would be good at.

Who has been your biggest influences?
My Mom and Dad have been my biggest influence in Life. Always teaching me right from wrong and still loving me even if I make the wrong choice. They are my biggest fans!
In my bodybuilding career, my biggest influence has been IFBB pro Quincy Roberts his knowledge on diet and posing is second to none.

What's comes easy, and what doesn't for you?
The training is what I find to be easy it helps me relieve stress and feel a lot better. The cardio two times a day gets old but I know that it's a must to achieve the look that I'm looking for. The part that is not so easy is trying to juggle my time between work training clients kids and getting the proper amount of rest.

Earning my pro card was a long hard battle. Before I won my class in 2006 at the NPC Nationals, placed 2nd in three out of 5 trips there.

What's the biggest mistake you've made?
This might sound funny to some but I feel the biggest mistake that I made was to move to the national level so fast. I had the potential and placed high but I think I missed the fun of local shows where friends can come for support and I would diet, train, and then compete with my training partners.

Describe your training style, how does it change from off-season to contest prep?
I train on feel. I know what body part that I'm going to train on that day but it depends on how I feel to how much weight that I use. I train heavy but to the point that I can control and squeeze the muscle that's being worked.

What are your bodybuilding goals? What do you need to do to get there?
Now that I have achieved my goal to win the Nationals and become an IFBB Pro I would like to compete in the 202 class and win a pro show. Qualifying for the 202 Olympia would be a dream come true!

I have a lot of work in front of me to achieve this goal. Winning the lightweight class means I have a lot of muscle to put on to compete at the next level.

Who are your favorite bodybuilders and why?
Ronnie Colman, Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray: I enjoyed watching "Big Ronnie" secure his place in Bodybuilding history winning the Olympia 8 times setting the standard for where you can take your body. I like Flex and Shawn for their Symmetry and pleasing look. They are true Champions in their own right.

Tell me about your approach to nutrition?
I feel that nutrition is 90% of making your body look the way that you want it to look on that certain day. I follow a sound nutrition plan eating 6-7 meals a day consisting of lean proteins, complex/simple carbohydrates. In the off season I eat about the same I just allow myself to have a few more cheat meals.
