What We Do
Your goals are just that -
YOURS! We tailor our services to each client as needed
to achieve his or her individual goals.
Before we can
help you set and achieve your fitness goals, we need to learn
more about you. We begin by collecting information regarding
your health history and past experience with exercise and diet
programs. Then we evaluate and document your current fitness
level and body composition. During this process, we discuss
what you hope to achieve and identify any obstacles (such as
time or spousal support) that must be overcome or minimized to
succeed.
Only after this process can we help you
define your fitness goals and recommend a detailed program of:
- Resistance training
- Cardiovascular training
- Proper nutrition and diet
- A positive mental attitude

| Resistance
Training Sessions |
|
Every exercise program should include resistance
training. Building muscle is an important way to improve your
health, as well as your appearance:
- Just by adding more muscle to your frame, you’ll
burn more calories -- a pound of muscle burns
approximately 25 times more calories than a pound of
fat.
- Resistance training can trigger lipolysis, a reaction
within the body where fat cells release fat and
shrink in size!
Working with a Wellness Coach can help beginners learn
how to use the proper form and ease any feelings of uncertainty
of how to work with the equipment.
With the help of a Coach, you can find the
strength - both physical and mental - to complete each rep,
each set, and each workout. In short, our Coaches maximize
your time and effort in the gym.
We conduct both
one-on-one and small team sessions. For each session, our
Coaches select the most effective:
- Exercises and exercise order
- Weight and number of reps and sets
- Duration of rest periods
- Advanced training methods as appropriate (supersets,
"running the rack," etc.)
- Stretching techniques
To help keep you on track
and motivated, we regularly monitor and document your progress
over time and make adjustments as needed.
Just look at our results!
Your Coach will work with you to
establish the best cardio program to match your goals and
instruct you on the frequency, duration, and intensity with
which it should be performed.
Some clients, new to
participating in an exercise program, perform their cardio
with a Coach who helps the client through the session until
successful completion.
Exercise is only part of the equation. We
design meal plans that are specific to your individual goals.
Each meal plan details:
- What to eat
- The serving size for each item
- When to eat
- Which condiments and spices to use and which to
avoid
We also provide instruction on the best methods
to prepare your food. Eating a healthy range of foods is a
lifestyle that will not leave you hungry and provides the fuel
you need to power your workouts and your life. Prepared
correctly, the food we recommend is full of flavor and should
not fill anyone with the dread that can come from following a
"diet."
Fond of entertaining or dining
out? You still can! Worried about the usual holiday
weight gain? You don’t have to be. We can teach you the best
methods for entertaining, dining out, and surviving the
holidays without destroying your hard work and sabotaging your
fitness goals.
Meal Preparation
Services: If you do not have time to prepare your own
food, we provide meal preparation as an additional service to
our clients. Contact
us for more information about this service.
| Positive
Mental Attitude (PMA) |
|
The affects of a positive mental
attitude when working to reach a goal should not be
overlooked.
We cultivate our clients’ positive mental
attitude through:
- S.M.A.R.T. goal setting - All goals should be
Specific, Measurable,
Attainable, Realistic, and
Time-based
- Helping you to focus on the immediate task at hand; for
example, breaking each session into competing the next rep,
last ten reps, or last set
- Peer encouragement and a friendly team environment
- Focusing on the positive aspects of your program (“Look
at those strong legs!”) rather than the negative (“This is
going to HURT!”)
- Recognizing your accomplishments
- Helping you visualize the outcome of your efforts - the
new you!
We can also provide basic instruction and
reading lists on how to incorporate a positive mental attitude
into your program. You may also be amazed at the other aspects
in your life that will benefit from a positive mental
attitude.
