Testimonials From Our Clients
Whether
your goals are related to improved health and weight loss,
getting toned, or competing, Fitness Pros can help you.
Here are some success stories as told directly from
clients:
I was drinking about a case of beer a day and I knew I had
to do something. I got up to 298 lbs - I didn't have any
diagnosed health issues yet but I figured I couldn't go on
like that much longer without running into something bad soon.
A friend told me about Roc and Gina and I figured it could
only help. For my first three weeks, Gina worked with me doing
cardio, cardio, cardio with some weights. I stopped drinking
beer and ate only what was on the food list they gave me. I
started dropping the weight pretty quick.
Next, I graduated to working with Roc with heavier weights
and have never looked back. It was good to graduate to workout
with a group of guys (with all of us swearing at him at some
point). The weight kept dropping and I got it down to 208 in
about four months!
Now I’m working on adding muscle and instead of dropping
weight I’m seeing the scale go up now. I’m around 220 now and
getting some good muscles!

On June 15, 2006, I visited
my primary care physician. It was a regularly scheduled visit
that produced a mind-altering consciousness. My vitals were
262 lbs and my blood pressure was 140/100. I had been
diagnosed with sleep apnea and wasn't getting any rest. My
energy levels were low and my breathing was a chore. My wife
said I snored like a tornado and often had to sleep in another
room with the door closed to rest. My doctor told me that
these were all fruit of being overweight. This wasn't a new
conversation for us. I had been battling weight problems for
at least ten years, almost to the date when I had to be rushed
to the emergency room because my blood pressure was 170/120
and they thought I was about to have a heart attack. That was
ten years ago and since that time I have struggled with my
weight. I've tried everything from no carb diets, to liquid
diets, to jogging. Nothing brought me under 250 lbs in ten
years.
Well, after my doctor told me what my vitals
were, he then told me that if I don't lose weight this year
that he was going to suggest more drastic measures of weight
loss. The other part to this story is that for the past ten
years I have been at the maximum dosage of high blood pressure
medicine. My options were over. I had to lose weight this
year.
On July 4, 2006, I was at my family reunion in
Mississippi and was talking to my cousin who had mentioned
that he had a personal trainer that was "the truth." He
described this person as smart and put him on a program that
trimmed him down, made him stronger and consulted him on
maintenance. He said he would call him for me. Now what you
have to understand is that to me all that meant was somebody
watching you work out and telling you to eat right. However, I
made the call, July 5, 2006. I met Roc and Gina on Friday,
July 7, for the initial survey and consultation. We started on
Sunday, July 9, 2006. Dates are important to me, so stay with
me. It will mean a lot as I go on.
Roc helped me
adjust my eating lifestyle. He didn't put me on a diet. I want
you to clearly understand the difference because in order for
this to work, you must understand that this is a lifestyle
modification. One lifestyle got me to 262 lbs, this one would
take it off. It is important to understand their strategy.
They change the way you eat, live and exercise. It is a
formula that involves discipline (show up), mindset, exercise
and food. The new menu I started on gave me a good lifestyle
that supported the workouts. It was like fuel in a starving
machine. I could tell immediately that my energy levels were
increasing. I also could tell how not eating healthy provides
the body nothing to run on, no matter how much you stuff it
with. It's like a storage closet of stuff you can't
use.
We started off on cardio. It didn't get easier,
but I got better at it. Once my cardio was at a certain point,
they introduced weights. First let me say that I have never
done cardio that could match this cardio workout and the
exercises with the weights built lean muscle mass. I began to
get stronger. You never get comfortable in these workouts, you
only get stronger. Before you know it, you are doing things
you didn't think you would be doing in such a small amount of
time.
So you understand the routine. Now the results.

215lbs - Waistline 38!
| On September 7, 2006 I went back
to see my doctor. He was speechless. He looked over my file
for the last ten years. He took my blood pressure.
I weighed in at 228lbs. My Blood Pressure was
114/88. I also was sleeping like a baby. My body
was resting and becoming restored every night. He asked me
what I was doing. I told him about Roc and my new lifestyle of
eating and exercise. We discussed the workouts and the food.
He told me to continue to stay with Roc and Gina for at least
another year. He checked my file and said that I never weighed
in at this weight and neither has my Blood Pressure ever been
this low since he starting seeing me ten years ago. These are
documented facts.
I am stronger now. I sleep better. My
wife says I don't even snore any more. My family says "this is
the Patrick we know." My cardio is crazy and I have never been
this strong since I played ball in high school. Oh, by the
way, I celebrated my 40th birthday on October 1, 2006.
Everyone at my job has complemented me and asked me what I was
doing. Others have tried to even imitate the menu. But it is a
lifestyle change, not a diet. People have asked what I am
taking. I tell them, I haven't taken anything but a butt
whipping every morning three days a week from 6:30 a.m. to
7:30 a.m. for the last three months.
Roc and Gina saved
my life. If you are reading this and are thinking about
working out with them, I have one thing to say. Roc and Gina
are indeed "the truth." I have other names I call Roc during
our workouts but I'll save those to when I see you in the
gym.
The only other piece of advice I will give you if
you are considering Roc and Gina, is "get your mind right."
They are the best. Because of my results, three of my friends
want to come to workout with The REAL ROC.

Training with ROC...Where do I start,
before I started training with Rashid I trained myself and
developed my own contest diets. Although I was in good shape,
I was not in the shape I needed to be in order to compete at
the top level.
Honestly, I was skeptical to work with a
trainer because I have always trained myself plus word was he
could be extremely demanding. But I took a chance and so did
he and the results paid off. I don't think I've ever hated and
loved someone at the same time... The training was rough and
he pushed me harder then I have ever pushed or allowed myself
to be pushed.
I started training with ROC the first
week of February 2005 and competed in my first show of the
year that very next month (6 weeks later). I won first in my
class and overall. After that I figured he knew what he was
talking about.
Working with ROC allowed me to see how
important the little things are; rest, being organized, team
work and taking care of your body because if you don't it will
not take care of you!
The hardest and most important
lesson I learned was to listen, because one mistake or that
one time you didn't pay attention or focus can cost you
everything you've worked hard for.
I can truly say, I
would not have made it to this level if it was not for my
trainer ROC Shabazz!!

Roc has been the best trainer I
have ever worked with and is a truly gifted man. I have never
worked harder, done so many lunges, eaten so much cod, sweated
more or felt better about myself. I know, I would not have
received my Pro Status in only my second year competing if I
hadn't been blessed with the encounter of Roc and his gift in
competitive training.
We began training in February
2005 and he took me to the Team Universe in August 2005. I
looked completely different than I did the year before. I went
from 11th place in the 2004 Nationals to placing 2nd at the
Team Universe, right behind my training partner Bethany
Gainey.
Roc trains his clients quite differently than
most. Our sets are rarely under 25 reps and can go up to 100
sometimes (100 is a lot... I kind of feel like it's a numbers
game sometimes) and that's not with 5 pound dumbbells. The
weight is high too. We often train in groups, which I actually
enjoy, because we're like a team. Everything is in super-sets
with a focus on total body workout. This is to give your
muscles a blended appearance so that an over all physique
flows together.
If you are ready to be a winner, or get
serious about your fitness level or your game and you want
someone who can fulfill your needs with analyzed specific
focus, Roc is your man!

Before Roc, I had been
working out with a different trainer to lose 30 lbs. of
post-baby fat. I also competed in my first show, which was a
great accomplishment, yet I placed last. Then, in the fall
following that show I tore my ACL and had back to back ACL
reconstruction and hernia surgeries.
I wanted to
compete before the summer was over and I knew what I had been
doing before the surgery didn’t work. In addition I had to
recover from the surgeries and regain the muscle I had lost –
over an inch on my left leg.
After only five months of
training with Roc, I found myself in the best shape of my life
and won the overall in the Master’s class!
Mind you,
during those first few months I had to concentrate on keeping
my breakfast down during workouts! I had to focus my thoughts
on just completing the next set, or sometimes just completing
the next few reps. I had never worked out like this before:
full body workouts, giant sets with little rest, and high reps
with more weight than I have ever handled. (I can honestly say
though that it does get a little easier, although Roc keeps
upping the ante as I’ve gotten stronger. I used to groan when
we did lunges with a 40lb. barbell, now we use a 60 lb.
barbell.)
I am always impressed with how Roc can adjust
my diet; making small changes that make a big difference. He
also made me to tune into the aspects of my life outside the
gym that would affect my physique such as rest, stress levels,
and the will to win.
I have the highest level of
confidence in Roc in his ability as a trainer to work with me
as an individual, helping me capitalize on my strengths and
overcome my weaknesses. Other trainers will tell you how great
they are, Roc won't - he will SHOW you through real RESULTS,
fast.
I can now also say – I’m not just a client, I’ll
be working with Roc and Gina as a Wellness Coach at the new
Roswell location!
  My name is Courtney
Copeland and I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. I
am the true definition of a melting pot. I'm always being
asked about my ethnicity. I'm Latin-Asian-American with a
touch of soul.
I'm an experienced singer and I'm
required to stay in shape. Anyone can jump on stage and sing.
but can they dance, sing strong live, and look in
shape?
My nutritionist and trainer, Roc Shabazz, has
made all that I've mentioned easier for me on stage. After
training with Roc for only two months, I decided to prepare
for a figure competition. Roc was able to get me into the best
shape of my life. I now have a great passion for health and
fitness.
Thanks to Roc, I am now a personal trainer for
artists and entertainers. I now have the ability to help
others get into the best shapes of their lives! Thanks Roc!

I fell in love with
fitness over ten years ago, when I saw an ad for Nike. It was
a photo of a female, torso down, on a step climber. Her legs
were very athletic; great sweeps of the quads, nicely
developed glutes and hamstrings and her calves were just
perfect. Ever since then I have read many books and magazines
to help achieve 'the Body,' even entered a few National
Physique Committee (NPC) Figure shows. However, my results
were always just 'not good enough'...... that is until I
joined 'Team Roc'.
His knowledge on fitness, training
and nutrition was far more than I could have ever learn from
any book or magazine. He quickly gained my trust and respect
for his "Passion' for the sport and most importantly
'Lifestyle' of fitness.
He helped me achieve the goals
that have been so far out of reach for me for so many years.
He learned my body inside and out. He customized every pound
of my training and every ounce of my nutrition.
In just
4 1/2 months he transformed my body and helped me to win my
class in the 2005 Eastern Seaboard Figure Championships in
Atlanta, Georgia.
